A. Difference between ™ and ®
The moment a mark is used related to goods or services, the owner of the mark can start writing ™ on its brand. However, most businesses start using ™ when their Trademark application is filed (stage 3 above). The mark ® can be used once the registration certificate is issued by the Registrar of Trademarks, i.e. after stage 4.
